Watch Servicing - What do we do?

Watch Service

In order to get the best out of your watch, servicing is something that is strongly recommended to maintain a healthy time piece. Your watch (if worn every day) is in essence a small engine that is running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If we can compare this to a car, something we use for a couple of hours a day, we routinely get these serviced every 12 months. As you click through to the article, you will find a brief outlay of the process involved in servicing your watch.

Rolex Serial Numbers

4 June 2019 10:10:00 BST

How to date your watch

It is possible to date your Rolex pre 2010 by taking a look at the serial number on your watch. This can be found in two main places on the watch depending on the year. Beginning on 2005, Rolex started to engrave the Serial number on the "Rehaut" which is also known as the flange, this is the rim of metal between the dial and the glass and has been laser inscribed with the word "Rolex" several times except at the 6 o'clock position where the serial number can be found instead. As of 2008, all Rolex watches produced have their serial number in this position.

If your watch is older than this, your serial number will be engraved in to the case itself in between the lugs at the 6 o'clock position. To see the serial, you will need to have the bracelet/strap removed from the watch to then read the engraved serial number.

Where original paperwork is available, the date on this will determine the age of the watch. Where there is no paperwork, the production date as per the table below will determine the age.

2020 Rolex Releases

1 September 2020 16:08:58 BST

2020 brings an update to the classic Submariner lineup. The range has been refreshed with a new 41mm case with slightly slimmed lungs making for a nostalgic homage to the earlier 5-digit Submariners.

The latest Calibre 3235 has been added to the Submariner which brings more to the watch, offering a 72hr power reserve and updated shock absorbing features.

We also see the introduction of a new sized Oyster Perpetual 41 featuring new 'Lacquer' dials in a range of striking new colours.

The Rolex Skydweller has been updated with the Oysterflex bracelet. The previous leather model has now been discontinued. Chocolate has been re-introduced as a dial option which has been a popular option on the previous model Skydwellers.
