The Anniversary of an Icon

A lot can happen in the space of twenty years with success not a guaranteed certainty. The Hanson Brothers had topped the charts in 1997 with "Mmm Bop", and Steve Jobs returned to run Apple Computers and we all know how these two different stories turned out.

1997 also saw Audemars Piguet introduce the Royal Oak Chronograph into their collection for the first time in what would be an extremely well thought out choice.

Pushing the Boundaries

Part of Human Nature is to push things as far as we can possibly beyond our own understanding, curiosity will never get the better of us and it would seem Panerai are no exception to that rule. 

 

It has almost become part of the ritual every January not only to see what new models Panerai will be releasing but also what new technology will be introduced to the world. This year has seen the further development of the Carbotech material we saw last year, with a few slight tweaks here and there and have now been brought the LAB-ID PAM00700 before us.

Rolex Sea-Dweller 50th Anniversary

We all knew that something was due for the Sea-Dweller with it being the 50th Anniversary this year and speculation was rife as to what we were to expect to be announced. We have seen images of and heard mention about possible editions that Rolex just might release as part of their celebration of this watch. From a solid 18ct White Gold model so utilising the existing form and adding a faded Anniversary Green to black akin to that of the D-Blue Deepsea.

 

Yesterday Rolex put us all out of our misery and confirmed even what some had miraculously predicted would materialise. What we now have on offer is an absolutely deliscious time piece that we just cannot wait to see in the flesh.
